The other day I was listening to a podcast called Short Story Long (a weekly podcast hosted by Young & Reckless Founder/Entrepreneur Chris “Drama” Pfaff) and guest Kevion Stirdivant was describing a concept called "Be, Do, Have."
It's the idea that before you can have the life you want you've got to be the person you're called to be. If you want to be a writer... write! If you want to be a film maker... make films! If you want to be a better son... call your parents! There will never be an optimal time to start being the best version of you.
Don't wait until you have what you want to become the person that you aim to be. People can fall into the trap of waiting until they HAVE the right things, to DO the right things, and out of doing the right things they BEcome the right person. That's ridiculously exhausting and never gets you the results you're looking for. Instead you can do the things you need to, when you have the conviction that comes with being who you're supposed to be.
Be --> Do --> Have.
Love the podcast... This particular one with Reid Hoffman is a great source of leadership wisdom!
